The extremely harrowing, but powerful ‘Three Girls’ BBC programme about Rotherham brings this issue back to the fore. The programme highlights how it was the low self esteem of the girls that was a major factor in them getting sucked into such a destructive way of life. They become embroiled in a word of drink, drugs a horrific systematic sexual abuse.
