The delights of having an introverted child at school | historylover

Today was my son’s end of year celebration assembly, that fun-packed half hour where the children in the class delight us with a song or two and are handed out certificates of achievement. Everyone is guaranteed a certificate – it being an inclusive school – which gives the teachers a bit of a challenge, trying to come up with an achievement to celebrate for each child.

We started with the obvious contenders, great academic achievement, superb work in maths, much improved reading, fantastic sportsmanship. Then the ideas began to dwindle. That’s when we got into more woolly territory – lots…
