It 14:26 on the 6th day of August. My battery ‘icon’  on my iphone says 1%. I’m sat in my favourite room in the house- the one with the books in it….

Days prior, I’d had many discussions regarding smartphone usage,  either based on personal experience- ‘Sometimes I don’t know why I’ve pulled my phone out of my pocket’- or ‘facts’ gleaned from various articles on the topic, such as:
We touch our phones between 2617 to 5427 times a day
We check our phones on average 85 times a day
We spend on average 3 hours a day on our phones

Any good dictionary will tell you that the fourth definition…
